Train to Bucharest

Yay! I am now on a train to Bucharest. I am in a sleeper with four girls and one boy. Magda Lena and Jasmine are a german couple from berlin. Sebena is an Indian women that lives in Houston, Texas and teaches ESL. Susannah attended the University of Chicago but is from Brooklyn, New York. And Julian is a French man who had a ticket but no sleeper reservation so asked if he could stay in ours. We stayed up for a long while talking because everyone had amazing english and we finally go to sleep around 2 am. Around 3am we stop at the border and we all get out to get our passports stamped. Instead of stamping them they just shove them all into a plastic bag. Oh dear. We have no idea how we're going to get them back. We go back to the train and wait in our compartment. A little while later the french man comes in and tells us that they're reading names outside of the train and that's how they're returning passports. What?! So we run out and wait to hear our names. Yay! Got my passport back. It was soooo hot and humid on the train. No AC and most of the time we were barely moving. We stopped in Bulgaria for over an hour so we all got out. I spent the left over bulgarian change I'd had from my last trip on some water and a Nestea popsicle which was very amazing tasting.
We got through Bulgaria and Romania but arrived in Romania five hours late. We arrived at 10pm making it a 24 hour train ride. We go to the ticket booth because many of us have tickets but no reservations. Unfortunately, there are no reservations available until 6:30am. Sebena, Susannah, and I decide to go out until that time. The germans decide to just try and get onto the train at midnight anyway.
